Senior Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer

As Senior Managing Director and Principal, Bruce serves as Sentinel’s Chief Investment Officer. He is responsible for the Firm’s entire investment process from global investment strategy to individual client portfolio construction. In addition to his core responsibilities, Bruce manages portfolios in an international micro-cap value strategy.

During the 15 years prior to joining Sentinel in 1998, he served wealthy families both within and outside the family office environment, including 11 years as the Director of Non-Real Estate Investments for Gerald D. Hines Interests. In addition to his experience managing traditional assets, he has extensive experience as a practitioner investing across a broad range of non-traditional asset classes including venture capital, leveraged buyouts, capital structure arbitrage, commodities, derivative strategies, and high-yield and emerging market debt.

Bruce has a BA degree from Williams College and a Ph.D. in Business Economics from Harvard University, where his dissertation was “Risk and Return in Real Estate: The REIT Sample”. He has held the position of Visiting Lecturer in Economics at Rice University. Bruce serves as Treasurer and Chairman of the Finance Committee, The Fay School and is active in the Houston Committee on Foreign Relations.
